Long-time professional environmental advocate David Masur will give a briefing on his current experience opposing a proposal to replace natural grass lawns with artificial turf at his local schools in Brighton, located outside of Rochester, NY. David will give some background on their local battle, and then discuss some best practices for running grassroot campaigns to attempt to halt these harmful projects through the eyes of both a local concerned citizen and a professional political campaigner. He’ll also give some tips and pitfalls from the experience of the group of activists that have come together in Brighton in their local fight.
