April 16, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 8:50 pm EDT
This weekly Wednesday 7 week course is open to anyone, anywhere, with an interest in what the plastic is doing to human health, and to the health of the environment. We will discuss the impacts of wrapping so much food and so many items in plastic packaging before we touch or eat it. We will cover toxicology, hormone disruption, and medical plastics. How did it come to be this way, and how are we going to get out of it? Register to find out.
Registration is now closed.
Some feedback from last semester
The content was scientifically grounded and entertaining (!) as well as alarming, like watching a massive train wreck. Really changed my thinking – now I realize the importance of this topic as an appropriate target for action for those who are working to address climate change and environmental destruction/pollution, and associated health impacts.
The lectures were just so incredibly informative and sparked engaging conversation where I felt I learned a lot from others in the class too. The guest lectures were all also amazing contributions to what we were discussing that day.
I found all parts of the class interesting and helpful. I have read most of the material and though most of it was not new, my knowledge is more solid than it was when I started. I also found our guest speakers extremely interesting.
