This presentation will discuss the current state of knowledge from preclinical studies about micro-/nanoplastics and their impact on human health, with a focus on pregnancy and early life development. We will present experimental results from mouse models that demonstrate the impact of micro-/nanoplastics on fetal growth, placental blood flow and metabolism, and the structure and function of the brain and the heart. We will discuss critical knowledge gaps in the field and clinical translation.
